The Bulldogs had already secured the series win after a 3-1 victory in Athens the previous day. The first game of the series, which was scheduled to be played in Atlanta, was suspended due to rain and will be rescheduled at a later date.

In the ninth inning, trailing 9-8, the Bulldogs once again showed their resilience. Corey Collins and Chadwick both drew walks, and pinch-runner Trey King advanced to third on a fielder's choice by Josh Stinson. Murillo tied the game with a sacrifice fly, and Fernando Gonzalez put the Bulldogs ahead with a run-scoring double. Kolby Branch sealed the victory with an RBI-single, bringing pinch-runner Henry Hunter home.

Graduate Brian Zeldin closed out the game with two strikeouts in the bottom of the ninth, securing the Bulldogs' impressive comeback win.
